T.W.W. Inc./Talks with Wolves believes that creative expression in all forms opens communication and social interaction within a community, expands self-awareness, fosters creativity and reinforces support of others to accomplish common goals. T.W.W.’s educational programs are based on African and Native American history, traditions and cultures to promote reading, writing and research among young people.

TWW provides arts-focused and integrated educational experiences for elementary and junior high school students in both after-school and in-school settings. Program curricula promote cultural awareness, provide opportunities for self-expression, and increase literacy. Youth work with visual art forms such as clay, crafts, photography, drawing, and painting and with the performing arts including theater, dance and music. Participants read slave narratives, research, and write about history. By integrating hands-on visual and performance arts with writing, students enhance their literacy skills while learning about the traditions of African and Native American indigenous people.
