Rebel Diaz Arts Collective (RDAC-BX) is a South Bronx-based performance and multimedia space that “aims to utilize culture as a means for education and self-empowerment in the community. By promoting a sense of ownership, agency, and responsibility through the arts, RDAC-BX addresses issues of gender, racial, and economic inequality.”

Working with neighborhood volunteers, RDAC-BX transformed a formerly abandoned space into a vibrant community center. Today the 4,000 sq. ft. loft houses a large performance/ meeting space, art gallery, multimedia recording and editing studio, computer lab and multi-use outdoor art garden. The center also serves as a space for family gatherings and celebrations, neighborhood association meetings, and a film studio and rehearsal space for performers.

RDAC-BX’s programs include monthly open mics that spotlight local talent, special showcases that highlight youth-created music, art, video, and film festivals. All events provide space for dialogue and discussion about the issues affecting the community.
